Benylin Chesty Coughs Original is a medicine which is used to help relieve coughing and related congestion symptoms. The liquid contains diphenhydramine which is an antihistamine that helps relieve coughing and dry secretions in the nose and chest and levomenthol which helps you breathe more easily by relieving congestion.

Suitable for

It is suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over.

How to use

This medicine is not recommended for children under 12 years old.

Adults and children aged 12 years and over: 2x 5ml spoonfuls four times a day. Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours.

DO NOT EXCEED THE STATED DOSE.

If symptoms persist, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Hazards and Cautions

This medicine may cause drowsiness. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery. Avoid alcoholic drink.

Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have an underlying medical condition, are taking any other medication or complementary therapy, or if symptoms persist.

Seek advice before using if you are breast feeding, pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or suffer from allergies. 

Possible side effects

Drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, dry mouth, nose and throat, upset stomach, allergic reactions including skin rashes (which may be severe and include blistering and peeling of the skin) and itching.

Storage

Do not store above 25°C. 

Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

Active ingredients

Each 5ml dose contains 14mg Diphenhydramine hydrochloride and 2mg Levomenthol.
